Birth may be an every day occurrence,

but it is always extraordinary.”

So, what is a Doula?

A doula is a support person who helps prepare and accompany a pregnant person — and partner, if applicable — during pregnancy, throughout the birth process, and into the initial postpartum period. This support includes emotional, physical, informational, and practical.

The key to a doula’s role is ensuring that, by providing accurate information and good support, the birthing person is able to make the best decisions for themselves and their baby. Doula’s do not take the place of a medical professional as the doula does not undertake any medical tasks. Instead, a doula is an invaluable part of the overall birth team.

Through my doula services and in all my work, I’m on a mission to foster connection and solidarity within and between birthing people.
